About the CourseAbout the Course
This course is all about photographing the ocean!
We will be looking for large surf and maybe even doing as the natives do, the “BIG WAVES” dance! But, even if the ocean Gods are not willing, we will be visiting all the local beaches and coastline to find the best and most interesting wave and beach images, of ALL TIME!
You will learn to control the look and feel of moving water shots. You will become a master with the tools for the job. You will be taken to beaches at dawn, dusk and the middle of the day and night, with the intention of teaching you how to best apply filters, lenses, and ISO in order to achieve the best composition for the subject. You will become intimate with how to apply proper “noise reduction” in post production with Adobe Lightroom. You will also be taught various ways to process your images in CS5, including but not limited to, quick masking, LAB color and glow methods.
Following each shoot we will spend time critiquing everyone’s images with the intention of all learning from our mistakes, successes and LUCK!
The itinerary will depend on weather and the tides!

Specific supplies for workshop:
Digital Camera with capable ISO to 3500
Intervalometer
ND filters, 4 stop AND 8 stop
Polarizing filter
Tripod
Note, If you have multiple lenses with various size diameters, I reccommend you purchase all your filters for the largest and also purchase step up rings that will allow you to attach larger filters to lenses with smaller diameters.
With the intention of maximizing our time, we will be spending one to two nights in San Simion.
