You feel good about your ability to capture and process images but you really want to take your image making to the next step, what do you do?  In this class we are going to address those issues.  Lewis Kemper will share with you his experience and knowledge on how to take your good images and make them even better.  We are going to be working with both photographic (capture) techniques and digital (post production) techniques to improve our images. 

From the capture end we will be working with choosing the proper white balance when making images, working on strong dynamic compositions using not only the traditional aspects of line and form but also incorporating using color as a compositional element.  We will concentrate on getting the best image captured from the standpoint of exposure, color and composition and then take that image as a starting point and using digital darkroom techniques to create the final masterpiece.

Just as Ansel Adams used to say, “the negative is the score and the print the performance”, in today’s digital world the capture is the score and the master file is the performance!  Lewis will share his techniques using both Lightroom and Photoshop to create the best master file.  Learn how to use contrast and light to guide the viewer through the image.  Work on selective local color, exposure and contrast changes to create that luminous image that leaves the viewer captivated.

We will be shooting new images and working with your older images as well.  Lewis will take students work and discuss what you want to achieve and collectively we will mold the image into a masterpiece while learning new techniques along the way.  Everyone will go home with a few finished images that they will make you proud.  Elevate your photography to a new level and have fun learning while doing so!
