About the Course
This 2-day Digital Printing Workshop is geared towards the artist or photographer interested in learning color management and . During the workshop you will also learn how to print, prep and produce a canvas gallery wrap.
Whether you use Light Workshops to do your printing for you or you want to start doing it at home, this class will teach you the correct process for optimal archival gallery wraps and color management techniques for you or your client.

You will be prepping and optimizing the images in Lightroom and Photoshop, learning color management, how to build a custom camera profile, soft proofing, how to calibrate a monitor, digital workflow, what a software RIP is, differences between different inkjet printers, how to choose a printer, what a printer profile is and how to build one.

Additionally, students will have lots of hand-on experience, adding protective coating to canvas, building a stretcher bar and stretching your very own canvas gallery wrap. You will learn the proceedures of a hand-stretch and a machine stretcher. The famous "Bull Schmitt" corner fold and a fully archival back finish.
Each student will leave with a finished 18x24 stretched canvas print of their own photo.
In between the coating and waiting times for your canvas, we will be printing! Experiement on types of ink jet media to see what is good for different types of images. Try metallics, art papers, textured papers and more!
We will also have time to go out and get some fresh air on the beautiful Central Coast and get some photography in!
This is going to be a great weekend of creative tips and techniques to help you learn the process of printing and stretching your own canvas.
This class is for those who enjoy learning new and proper techniques in presenting your work. Whether you are photographer wanting to print better, a professional framer wanting to get some techniques in the most popular framing technique or the artist wanting to learn in a small class environment. This class is open to many levels and useful to all of them!
