WARNING:
There are significant elements of risk in any participation and activity associated with outdoor
adventures, including but not limited to boat travel, climbing/hiking/trekking, fishing, visiting remote wilderness
locations, sea kayaking and watercraft use, the participation and the use of any related equipment (referred to herein
as “activity”). Although we have taken reasonable steps to provide you with appropriate equipment and/or skilled
guides so you can enjoy an activity for which you may not be skilled, we wish to remind you this activity is not
without risk. Certain risks cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique character of the activity. The same
elements that contribute to the unique character of the activity can be causes of loss or damage to your equipment, or
accidental injury, illness, or in extreme cases, permanent trauma or death. We do not want to frighten you or reduce
your enthusiasm for this activity, but we do think it is important for you to know in advance what to expect and to be
informed of the inherent risks.
COVENANT OF GOOD FAITH:
I recognize that you, as provider of goods and/or services, will operate under a
covenant of good faith and fair dealing, but that you may find it necessary to terminate an activity or terminate the
participation of any person for the safety of myself and/or other participants. I acknowledge that no guarantees have
been made with respect to achieving objectives.

What is Provided:
All meals, soft drinks, select wine with dinner, bottle water, beer, bedding, linens, salt water fishing tackle, and bait. If you book direct with Light Workshops your transportation between boat and hotel or boat and airport in Alaska are included. Your registrtaion will include an area map, cruise certificate and pre-cruise planning information.
Accomodations on the yacht are provided with fully furnished rooms. There are 2 people per room.
The price of the trip that is listed is for 1 spot on the boat. If you are a single occupant you will be sharing a room with another participant.
What is not provided:
Air Fare, local taxes when apllicable, hard liquor out of state transfers, personal items, gratuities, travel insurance and anything otherwise not mentioned.
Weather
Weather is always a factor and wind is the most bothersome. Mariners have altered coruses to minimize the weather's impact for centuries. If safety or comfort becomes a factor your Captian may select an alternate route to preserve the quality of your cruise.
Other Conditions
Fares, itineraries, and termare subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to alter an itinerary for your safety, weather, or spontaneous opportunities to make your adventure even more spectacular.
Payments:
There is a 50% deposit due for all registrations 91+ days before the cruise. 90 Days prior to the cruise the full amount is due. This payment calendar is different than Light Photogrpahic Workshops' in-house and California based classes. See the registration page for more information.
If you are registering 120+ days prior to the cruise we can set up a payment program for you. Please call the office for details.
Cancellation Policy:
The cancellation policy for this trip is separate from the regular LIGHT Photographic Workshops Policies.
Should you need to cancel:
Your payment will be refunded less a 25% cancellation fee if cancelled 150 or more days prior to departure. Cancellations 90 to 150 days prior to departure will receive the same refund only if your space is filled. Deposits for cancellation 90 days or less will not be refunded. We strongly recommend trip insurance. A deposit reserves your space. Full payment confirmation protects your fare from any subsequent changes.
In the unlikely event we cancel your cruise we will refund 100%
of what you paid.
Upon Registering for these cruises you will be asked to sign the following in a separate document which you will mail or fax to Light for Light Workshops and our Yacht company.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS:
I acknowledge that the following describes some, but not all, of those risks:
1) Falling;
2) Cold weather related injuries and illnesses and hypothermia;
3) An “act of nature” which may include
avalanche, inclement weather, severe and/or varied wind, temperature or weather conditions;
4) Equipment failure
and/or operator error;
5) Risks typically associated with use of sea kayaks and watercraft including change in water
flow or current; submerged, semi-submerged and overhanging objects; capsizing, swamping or sinking of watercraft
and resultant injury, hypothermia, or drowning;
6) My sense of balance, physical coordination, and ability to follow
instructions;
7) Attack by or encounter with insects or animals;
8) Accidents or illnesses occurring in remote places
where there are no available medical facilities;
9) Use of hot springs;
10) Fatigue, chill and/or dizziness, which may
diminish my/our reaction time and increase the risk of accident.
I understand the description of these risks is not
complete and that unknown or unanticipated risks may result in injury, illness or death.
EXPRESS ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RESPONSIBILITY:
With the registration of this Yacht Cruise Light Workshops trip: I am aware that this activity entails risks of
injury or death to myself and minor children for which I may be responsible.
I agree to assume responsibility for the
risks identified herein and those risks not specifically identified. My/Our participation in this activity is purely
voluntary. No one is forcing me/us to participate and I/we elect to participate in spite of the risks. I am (We are)
physically and mentally capable of participating in the activity and/or safely using the equipment.
I accept that
wearing a U.S.C.G. approved personal flotation device for waterborne activities is a basic safety precaution.
I
assume full responsibility for the risks of personal injury, accidents or illness, including but not limited to sprains,
torn muscles and/or ligaments; fractured or broken bones; eye damage; cuts, wounds, scrapes, Abrasions, and/or
contusions; head, neck, and/or spinal injuries; animal or insect bite or attack; shock, paralysis, drowning, and/or
death; and any resultant expenses from any of the foregoing risks. I also assume responsibility for damage to or loss
of my/our personal property as the result of any accident that may occur. |
